My name is Karla and I have hosted and taught language students of all ages and various nationalities for many years.

I have been a teacher and agent for “Vivi L’Irlandia” for 5 years now.

Originally from Germany – I have been living in Ireland for about 25 years.

I am a trained ACELS TEFL teacher of English. This training emphasises the communicative method of teaching, which means encouraging students to speak as much as possible. Every student will do an entry level test (usually the Cambridge test) at the beginning of their stay, so the lessons can be tailored according to their individual level and needs.

Aside from teaching, I also act as an agent for “Vivi L’Irlanda”. I recruit host families for our language students.

Having been a host for many years myself, enables me to make a very solid judgement call on the suitability of the chosen families for hosting. I also organise various activities for the students during their stay, like arts’ or sports’ camps, which are very popular. I am the link between Milan and Clare, between different languages and expectations, trying to build a bridge between families.
